The Santa Clara Youth Soccer players are heading into the 2016 Spring soccer season without soccer fields to play home games on, while the NFL completed construction of the media compound on the Soccer Park fields. There are reports circulating about rain water trapped underneath the plastic flooring due to the torrential El Nino rain storms and the media center blocking water drainage.
The City of Santa Clara has provided the soccer league with two practice fields at Twin Creeks from Monday-Thursday, but there are still no soccer fields available to host the nearly 200 games between January-April. The San Jose Earthquakes have offered their game field and practice field at Avaya Stadium but no details have emerged about when the field could be made available, and if the soccer league would have access on the weekends when 95% of the games are played.
